| I can't speak for Vuk or any of the vendors who outsource product manufacturing to China. But Vuk has been in business a very long time and he does have a good reputation... I've had a couple of dealings with him in the past and both times it was great. One thing I'll say on this subject is... when it comes to QC Testing, especially if it's an outsourced component, always double-check and triple-check it yourself. Just because they (the contractor) say they do it, doesn't mean they do it right or do it at all. When you think about it... a small volume order from the other side of the world, and given that China's standard business ethics is still not clearly defined, you can't assume anything. One clear example I can give... a couple years ago, DENSO ordered 20,000 electric USB coffee-mug warmers from a one of our Chinese contractors as gifts to their customers and certain employees. Prior to giving out these gifts, DENSO tested each and every one of them (took 30 people about 2 weeks to do this). Of the 20,000 that were ordered and delivered to us, a little over 3,000 of them didn't work at all. We had to send the defects back and then retested the replacements... took about 4 rounds of send backs in total. Let's just say it took about 6 weeks of unnecessary checking and rechecking, lost man hours for those 30 people, and we managed to destroy 3 laptops in the process (I think one caught fire and the rest was due to faulty wiring in the warmers causing some sort of feedback through the USB port). Imagine what sort of complaints and/or liability claims we might have received from our customers and employees if some these "gifts" didn't work or cause any damage to them and/or their property?
